Breaking Barriers, Saving Lives

The Challenge

Cancer has been one of the top two leading causes of death in the United States for more than 75 years. Nearly 40% of Americans will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, and in 2025 alone, more than 2 million new cases are expected in the U.S. — alongside more than 600,000 deaths.

The cost of cancer care reflects the scale of the problem: in 2020, U.S. cancer-related expenditures reached $208.9 billion and continue to grow as treatments become more complex and expensive.

Behind these staggering statistics are real patients and families, many of whom still face financial barriers, medicine shortages, and insurance obstacles that prevent them from getting the care they urgently need.

Our Response

The HarborPath Policy Council is working to remove these barriers and ensure that every patient - regardless of income, insurance status, or geography - has access to life-saving medications and equitable cancer care.

  • Support HarborPath’s work to deliver critical medications at no cost to uninsured and vulnerable patients.

  • Educate patients, families, and communities about treatment access and support systems.

  • Advocate for policy reforms that protect patients from financial and systemic barriers.
